Curtis Tennant stars in Lazarus alongside famous faces such as Bill Nighy and Sam Claflin

A local young actor is will appear on our screens from today (October 22). Curtis Tennant features in new horror-thriller television miniseries, Lazarus.

The show comes out today on Amazon Prime and was created by Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst. The series follows a forensic psychologist, Joel Lazarus, who is investigating his father’s death and a complex web of cold cases after experiencing unexplainable events.

16-year-old Curtis, from Hull, will take on the role of Aidan. The young actor is a rising young talent at the leading drama school and acting agency, Articulate Agency, based in Bradford.

Lazarus is a breakout role for Curtis, with previous appearances in Sherwood, Grammar Animations, and Boat Story. Curtis said: “I was just overcome with excitement when I found out I got the role because it’s my first cast role, and for it to be such a great plot with such a great crew and cast, it was just really amazing.

“I cannot wait for the audience to see Aiden’s whole journey as a character, from start to finish; the development of him is what I really want to be noticed. It obviously means so much to me to be a part of this great community, especially this early in my career as an actor, and I hope to have many more experiences just like this one in the near future.

“Articulate has been one of the most aiding communities to help me to get where I am now; all auditions, feedback, and workshops have made me what I am currently, and they will definitely help me implement even more into my work in the future.”

The local young actor was trained in online 1-1 Screen Acting classes at Articulate Drama School. The agency aims to nurture young actors and secured life-changing opportunities in the TV and film industry.

Writer and executive producer of the series, Harlan Coben, is a number 1 New York Times bestselling American author of mystery and suspense novels. He is known for creating and executive producing Netflix TV series based on his books, such as The Strangers, Fool Me Once, and Stay Close.

Danny Brocklehurst, also a writer and executive producer, is known for Netflix Drama Fool Me Once and has previously been included on Radio Times 100 list of the most powerful people in British Television.

Cast members include Bill Nighy (Shaun of the Dead, Pirates of the Caribbean, Valkyrie), Alexandra Roach (Utopia, Inside No.9, Black Mirror), Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games, Enola Holmes, Me Before You). Lazarus is out today on Amazon Prime.
