The full IMG gradings table is set to be released on Thursday, with Hull KR expected to have leapfrogged St Helens to reclaim top spot
Hull KR’s remarkable week is poised to improve further, with the Super League champions securing the top spot on the IMG gradings.
According to All Out Rugby League, the Robins have ascended from fifth to first, leapfrogging Leeds Rhinos, Warrington Wolves, Wigan Warriors and St Helens, with the latter losing their position at the top this year.
This crowns an exceptional year for the Robins, who achieved a historic treble when they clinched the Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Nine clubs have secured a ‘Grade A’, with Hull FC regaining top-tier status after missing out last year. Castleford have fallen below the 15-point threshold required having achieved that mark last year.
Leigh are believed to have risen from seventh to fifth in another impressive climb for the Leopards. Catalans are in seventh, with Wakefield eighth and Hull FC ninth.
As previously reported, Bradford Bulls are tenth, with the club set for a return to Super League for the first time in over a decade.
In other news, Salford Red Devils’ tenure as a Super League club has ended following a disastrous year off the field. The Reds have placed 15th in the gradings table and after opting out of the application process to be considered as one of the two clubs joining the expanded competition, they are now destined for life outside of the top tier for the first time since 2008.
The last two clubs to be invited to the competition will be revealed on Friday, with selection not solely based on their gradings but through a thorough examination of their financial standing. It’s understood that Toulouse have once again secured the 13th spot, while York has surpassed London Broncos to take the 14th position.
The complete table is set to be unveiled at 10 AM on Thursday.
