Three teenagers were arrested

The keen nose of PD Puck picked up the scent after a burglary was reported in Cottingham leading to the arrest of three teenagers. Police were called to a “burglary in progress” in Thwaite Street at around 10.40pm on Thursday evening (October 2).

Officers from the Beverley Neighbourhood Policing Team and patrol teams were sent to the scene and, on arrival, found forced entry had apparently been made to a property causing damage to a window. A Humberside Police spokesperson added: “The Police Dog Unit were subsequently called in to assist, and PD Puck tracked the scent from the scene, leading officers to locate three teenagers nearby.

“Two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old boy have since been arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal, and all three remain in police custody assisting with ongoing enquiries at this time. If anyone witnessed the incident, has any information or CCTV from around the time the incident is believed to have occurred, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 549 of 2 October.
