A very busy September in the courts saw a lengthy prison sentence of 25 years being given to a serial sex offender. The long sentence quickly followed the jailing of another sex offender the previous month for an even longer term of 28 years.
Other serious cases dealt with included other sex offenders being jailed for 15 years and nine years. A woman who savagely slashed another woman with a knife was locked up – as well as another woman who viciously used a pair of scissors as a weapon.
There were also the cases of a cocaine conspiracy gang, two rioters who joined in the large-scale public disorder in Hull city centre and a grandmother who drove at 100mph during a police chase in what was “like something out of a horror movie”.
An obsessed stalker who set up a secret camera in a woman’s bedroom was also one of the many people to be jailed during hearings at Hull Crown Court and, in some cases, Grimsby Crown Court.
