The Tigers can win a second successive game this weekend for the first time in a year

Oli McBurnie says he’s determined to keep that winning feeling at Hull City, after playing a key role in Saturday’s impressive 3-1 win over Southampton.

City notched up their second win of the campaign against the Saints with a blistering attacking display, and next up, they face a struggling Watford side at Vicarage Road, who have lost their last two, with some Hornets fans branding new boss Paulo Pezzolano clueless.

McBurnie’s display saw him notch a third Championship goal of the season and a third assist as John Lundstram powered in the second after Kyle Joseph’s first MKM Stadium goal opened the scoring in the first half, a performance which saw him named in the second tier’s Team of the Week.

The 28-year-old Scotland international has been a revelation since joining the Tigers on a free transfer, and says losing anything frustrates him, so he’s determined to keep that winning feeling going in Hertfordshire.

“I think you saw the boys enjoying ourselves out there, it’s fun,” he told Hull Live. “Winning’s fun. That feeling of winning is fun. We had a small-sided game in training on Tuesday, and my team lost for the first time since like 1998, but I was raging.

“I hated it. It really ruined my day, and the gaffer pulled me, and he’s like, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ And I was like, I just hate losing, so that winning feeling just within everything in life (is great). It could be whatever, but that winning feeling, there’s no feeling like it.

“We’re going into that game with full confidence, we know today’s (Southampton) one game, but it’s definitely something to build on and take into next week.”
