The speedster has had a superb season at Hull FC.

Hull FC winger Lewis Martin has been nominated for the Super League Young Player of the Year award for the 2025 season – just two days after his first-ever Dream Team inclusion was confirmed.

The Black and Whites flyer was the competition’s top try scorer this season, scoring 25 tries in 27 rounds. He played every minute of every game in just his second full year of first-grade rugby league, also scoring seven Challenge Cup tries in three rounds – including a hat-trick away at Wigan Warriors – taking his full season total to 32 tries in just 30 games.

It’s not just his try scoring that has impressed either, with Martin finishing the season with 458 carries and 3,233 metres – the sixth and ninth best totals in the entire league. He was crowned Hull FC’s Young Player of the Year at Monday’s awards night.

Turning 21 years of age last month, the Hull-born speedster has enjoyed a rapid rise since breaking onto the scene with a try-scoring debut in the final game of the 2023 season at St Helens. He then missed only three games in the whole 2024 season, instead being named as 18th man for each, scoring nine tries in 25 games in his first full season at this level.

But 2025 has seen Martin take his game up a notch – with his efforts now rewarded alongside the very best young players in the competition. He is nominated alongside three other players: Wigan Warriors back-rower Junior Nsemba, St Helens centre Harry Robertson, and Huddersfield Giants full-back George Flanagan.
