Hull has had its fair share of bowling alleys that have come and gone – and still maintains a number of lanes where enthusiasts can enjoy pitting their ten-pin wits against each other.
One bowling alley that many fans of the fun sport will recall is Hull Bowl. The centre, also known as AMF Bowling, was based in Oslo Road on the Sutton Fields industrial estate.
It once hosted a number of young league teams in the 80s and 90s. Now the home of indoor football centre Soccer Kings, the bowling alley closed several years ago, but will still be fondly remembered by bowlers who enjoyed a strike or two inside.
Below is a selection of photographs pulled from the Hull Daily Mail archives of the days of Hull Bowl.
