The Tigers will be looking for a rare success in Swansea this weekend
As Hull City prepare for their return to Championship action at Swansea City on Saturday afternoon, they’ll head to South Wales in good spirits.
That’s according to Kyle Joseph, who will face his old club wearing the colours of the Tigers, looking to add to his goalscoring tally, which he opened in the defeat at Bristol City last time out.
Joseph admits there has been significant change at the MKM Stadium during the summer, with Sergej Jakirovic replacing Ruben Selles. Twelve players have arrived and a host have moved on, giving the squad a very different feel to the one that narrowly avoided relegation last season.
Despite all that change, however, Joseph believes the dressing room is one of the best he’s been in and a marked improvement on the one he joined last term following his January arrival from Blackpool.
Another key factor that Joseph feels will help the players in the coming weeks is the fact that the transfer window has now closed, and all speculation over the futures of players can be put on the back burner, for the time being at least.
“There’s been a lot of change this summer, the new manager coming in, I think we’ve all dealt with it really well,” Joseph told Hull Live. “There’s a lot of noise outside, and I think we’ve done really well to keep the noise out of the building at the training ground, and really gel as a team on and off the pitch.
“I think it’s probably one of the best changing rooms I’ve been in, and it’s a lot different to last season in terms of the way it felt. The signings that have come in have gelled brilliantly. They have really come in and made us solid as well. It’s a massive thing being close off the pitch and on the pitch, and it really helps. I think that we’ve got that now, and it’s about once the window closes, we can build on that.
“We’ll know who’s in the building and who’s here for the next few months, to really gel and crack on. We’ve got players coming back, we’ve got Liam coming back after the international break, Mo’s getting fitter, and the skip (Lewie Coyle) is back. We’ve got a really good squad and a good group of core players to make an impact.”
