A man has been taken into police custody following a report of indecent exposure in Hull in the early hours of the morning. A police dog helped locate the suspect, Humberside Police added.

The force said it received a report of indecent exposure at a footpath in the Spring Bank area at 2am today. Officers and police dog Lottie were sent out to find the suspect, who allegedly “fled on foot”.

A man “matching the description” was found hidden in a wooded area. Subsequently, a 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of exposure.

In a statement, Humberside Police said: “A man is currently in our custody following reports of a man indecently exposing himself in Hull this morning (Monday, 8 September).

“Officers were called at around 2am this morning to reports of a man indecently exposing himself on a footpath in Spring Bank in Hull.

“Officers attended and the suspect allegedly fled on foot into a wooded area. Police Dog Lottie was deployed and swiftly located a man matching the description hidden in the woods.

“A 61-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of exposure. He remains in police custody whilst enquiries are ongoing.”
