The prop has started the first steps of recovery after rupturing his Achilles.
Hull FC prop Herman Ese’ese has stated that the 2025 season was the best year he’s experienced so far in his career and has vowed to come back from injury ‘better and stronger’.
The front row forward was cruelly ruled out for the season this week after an Achilles rupture was confirmed, with Ese’ese limping off the field against Leeds Rhinos at the end of last month. His recovery has been estimated at six to eight months, with the player, who will miss the start of next season, going for surgery before starting a lengthy rehab process.
And the 30-year-old has vowed to give his recovery everything and come back a more improved player. Ese’ese was already in top form this year, second in the Man of Steel chart before it went into the dark back in June. He scored ten tries in 26 appearances in all competitions and was comfortably one of, if not the best, front rowers in Super League.
Writing on his Instagram page, Ese’ese, who is contracted at the club until the end of the 2029 season, said: “Devastated that I won’t be out there again this season in the black and white with my brothers but man, what an enjoyable season it has been for myself and the club.
“I’ve loved turning up to training every day doing what I love and then running out on the pitch to play alongside the lads in front of the Old Faithful. This season has been the best I’ve experienced in my career so far and I can’t wait to continue building on it next season. I’ll be back real soon, better and stronger. In a bit.”
