It’s been anything but dull over the course of the summer at the MKM Stadium
Hull City ended what has been a dramatic, choatic and at times, bewildering transfer window with two signings and a departure on deadline day.
Crucially for City and head coach Sergej Jakirovic, the Tigers kept hold of goalkeeper Ivor Pandur and star defender Charlie Hughes despite strong interest.
After what became something of a saga, midfielder Amir Hadziahmetovic joined from Besiktas on loan for the season, while Darko Gyabi arrived on a permanent deal from Leeds United after City negotiated his exit.
Those deals were made possible by Abu Kamara’s exit on deadline day, with his move to Spanish La Liga side Getafe finally being ratified.
In total, City made 12 signings with as many as 19 departures across a hectic summer period which began with the club being slapped with a flurry of transfer restrictions.
Despite being unable to pay a transfer or loan fee, the Tigers were still able to bring in experienced Championship players Oli McBurnie and John Lundstram, while exciting youngsters Gyabi and Joel Ndala joined former terrace favourite Joe Gelhardt in returning to the MKM Stadium.
Late into the deadline day evening, City reporter Barry Cooper was joined by journalist and Tigers fan Kathryn Batte and ex-Tigers commentator James Fletcher to reflect on the business done by City.
