The Royal Air Force is about to land in Hull with an action-packed weekend of free activities for all the family to enjoy. There will be live demonstrations and military band music, hands-on fun to test quick thinking and the chance to see what life as a pilot is like, as RAF Hull Town Show takes over Queen Victoria Square.
The event will take place from Friday to Sunday, September 19 to 21, starting at 9am and finishing at 4.30pm each day. Admission is free but you can register your attendance on Eventbrite.
A spokesperson for RAF Hull Town Show said: “Get ready, Hull! The RAF is landing in the heart of the city for an unmissable weekend of adventure, excitement, and hands-on activities for all ages.
“Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast, a thrill-seeker, or just looking for a fun family day out, we’ve got something for you.” Ever wanted to know what it is like to be a pilot? You can step inside, take a photo, and see what it takes, with an aircraft experience.
You can get involved in RAF-inspired physical challenges and see how your speed, agility, and co-ordination measure up and dive into fast-paced, hands-on challenges where your grit and quick thinking could make all the difference, as a test of your survival skills. Also, you can explore exciting career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and maths with RAF experts, or chat with the force’s recruitment professionals about careers and the application process.
Live music and performances from an RAF Band will fill the Town Show with energy and atmosphere. The spokesperson said: “This is your chance to get up close and personal with the incredible world of the Royal Air Force.
“Chat with real servicemen and women, explore the diverse careers within the RAF, and take part in activities that will educate, inspire, and entertain. So, rally your family, bring your friends, and experience an unforgettable weekend of excitement, adventure, and discovery.”

The purpose of the free event is for visitors to learn and discover about the RAF with no commitment required. “We will not pressure you and there is no obligation to apply because you have attended the event,” the spokesperson said.
