Bridlington North Library is to undergo a full remodel, officials have said.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council said the library would close from 1 September to allow work to begin.
It said the building would be given a “contemporary feel whilst carefully preserving the original character”.
New features will include a Health Zone, where customers can attend health and wellbeing checks, and a children’s sensory room.
In July, Bridlington Central Library reopened after also undergoing a major refit.
Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “We are delighted to announce that we will now begin works on Bridlington North Library, ensuring that we will offer the same level of exceptional service across Bridlington.
”Libraries are essential to our residents, providing a safe space for people to educate themselves and connect with their community whilst exploring their hobbies and passions.”
Coultish said the children’s area would enable families to “learn together”.
The council, which has received £250,000 of government funding to put towards the refurbishment costs, said it expects work to be completed by the end of the year.
