Those hoping for a return of last week’s hot and sunny weather for this week’s Coldplay concerts in Hull look set to be disappointed. Thankfully, however, no heavy rain is forecast either though it may be a little damp at times.

After a dull and drizzly start on Monday, the cloudy theme looks set to continue through the day and into the evening though some sunny spells are possible, according to the Met Office. It is expected to stay cloudy into the evening.

In its forecast for Yorkshire, the Met Office says: “A generally rather cloudy start but gradually turning brighter inland, with the best of developing sunny spells in the west. Coastal areas will likely remain cloudy and cooler throughout, however.” For tonight, it adds: “Cloud spreading back inland again through the evening and overnight, perhaps thick enough to give the odd spot of drizzle in places, with some hill fog patches.”

Temperatures will peak at around 20C during the afternoon, but staying relatively mild into the evening and overnight with lows of 14-15C.

It’ll be “similar” on Tuesday too with a risk of some light showers later on during the time of the second Coldplay concert at Sewell Group Craven Park. The Met Office says: “Similar to Monday with the best of developing brighter spells in the west. A band of scattered light showers is likely to move southwards later, accompanied by an increasing breeze.”
