Former Hull KR half-back Brad Schneider has agreed a one-year deal with Dolphins from Penrith Panthers for the 2026 NRL season.

The 24-year-old is currently the understudy for superstar Nathan Cleary at the Panthers, with 13 appearances this year to date, scoring one try.

Having made his NRL debut in 2021 with Canberra Raiders, Schneider broadened his experience with a short but successful loan stint with Hull KR in 2023.

He was a part of the Rovers outfit that reached Wembley that season, falling agonisingly short against Leigh Leopards in golden point extra time of the Challenge Cup Final.

The sharp-shooting half-back made 12 appearances for the Robins, scoring three tries – including a debut score against Leeds Rhinos – and kicked 40 goals in all competitions before returning down under and joining Penrith Panthers for the 2024 campaign.

He will link up with his new side in November for pre-season under head coach Kristian Woolf, also linking up with St Helens and England forward Morgan Knowles at the Dolphins.

“Brad is a great signing for us as someone who has the experience of being part of the Panthers’ 2024 Premiership as well as playing in a Challenge Cup Final in front of a packed Wembley Stadium,” Dolphins’ chief executive Terry Reader said.

“He gives us another great option in an important position as we continue to build our roster for the future.”

He also played alongside Dolphins’ current full-back Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, winning a national schoolboy final with the Australia international.
