The East Park event will ‘celebrate the joy that dogs bring to our lives’
A charity dog show is heading to a Hull park this weekend. Following on from the success of the debut event in Hessle last year, Pups In The Park is returning at a new location.
Organised by local mental health charity Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, it will take place at East Park this Sunday (August 17) from 10.30am until 1.30pm. The show will feature a variety of popular classes, including Best In Show, Waggiest Tail, and Best Rescue, providing an opportunity for dogs of all breeds, ages, and backgrounds to get involved.
Alongside the competition, visitors will also be able to enjoy pet-related stalls, local food vendors, and family entertainment, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Proceeds from the day will go directly to Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, supporting the charity’s ongoing work to provide essential mental health services across the region.
This year, The Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor Cheryl Payne, will formally open the event at 10.30am, with a ceremonial welcome by the Sea Cadets. Pups In The Park is sponsored by Ability IT and supported by several local organisations.

Marie-Louise Robinson, community fundraiser at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, said: “It’s well known that having a dog, getting out, meeting people, and being in the fresh air all have a positive impact on our mental health. Pups In The Park was a huge success last year, and we’re thrilled to bring it to East Park this weekend.
“It’s a fantastic way to bring the community together, promote mental wellbeing, and celebrate the joy that dogs bring to our lives – all while raising funds for an important cause.”
Entry is £2 per dog, per class which can be purchased in advance. It is £2 per adult to attend the event with those tickets available for purchase on the day.
