Bridlington Spa will play host to a ‘jam-packed day of pop culture, creativity and community’
From comics to cosplay, retro toys to contemporary art, Bridlington Comic Con 2025 promises all this and more. The fun, family comic con beside the seaside is making a return.
On Sunday, September 7, Bridington Spa will open its doors to visitors eager to greet some of the biggest talents in British comics. There will be free comic art workshops for all ages, prop displays, a live quiz and special guest appearances.
Andy Hampel, of organisers District 14 Events, said: “Bridlington Comic Con 2025 is proudly the Comic Con with comics at its heart, celebrating not just the superheroes and sci-fi, but the writers and artists who craft the worlds we love. This year’s guest line-up features some of the biggest talents in British comics and beyond.
“Bridlington Comic Con is more than just fun and fandom. It’s a place where stories matter.
“Comics are not only thrilling, hilarious, and action-packed, they also encourage reading, promote understanding, and help us talk about mental health, identity, and real-world issues. Whether you’re into indie zines, childhood nostalgia, or the future of storytelling, there’s a place for you here.”
Andy said: “Bridlington Comic Con 2025 is bigger, bolder, and bursting with creativity. It’s fantastic, friendly and fun.”
The “jam-packed day of pop culture, creativity and community”, according to Andy, will include a family-friendly Creative Zone, where kids and adults can make, draw and explore. There will be exciting prop displays and photo opportunities and a cosplay competition hosted by national prize-winning cosplayer, Nocturnal Naomi.
Also planned is a live podcast tribute to the late, great Tony Slattery, with Tony Slattery’s Rambling Club, plus special appearances from Dalek Two Zero and Doctor Who’s Colin Spaull, one of the few actors to appear in both classic and new Doctor Who.
A quiz with prizes, hosted live, will also be part of the comic con, where a hall full of traders and artists, selling everything from comics to Funkos and artwork to accessories, will give everyone chance to browse at their leisure. Andy said the 2025 guest line-up included Rachel and Robert Luckett (writers of Regular Show, Ed, Edd n Eddy, and Bumstorm); Lee Bradley (Spider-Man, Transformers); Tony Esmond (Atomic Hercules); Mark Bennington (The Beano, Whizzer and Chips), and many more.
Doors open at 11am on Sunday, September 7 for early entry ticket holders. You can also pay on door on the day (under-fives have free admission) with entry at noon.
