This selection of pictures will no doubt evoke plenty of memories for former pupils of Foredyke Primary School in east Hull.

The school, in Flinton Grove, was one of a number in Hull and the East Riding to be rebuilt under a Government Priority School Building Programme, which got under way in 2015. It became Woodland Primary, the school occupying a site immediately behind the old building, with its occupants moving in in April 2016.

Foredyke Primary itself was created as the result of an amalgamation of schools, with the earliest Flinton Grove School opening in 1931. Later, Flinton High, with separate junior and infant schools, were created and a joining in 1980 with Southcoates Junior High created the mixed Foredyke Junior High School – the premises then becoming home to Foredyke Primary.

Many happy memories will be recalled by people who attended Foredyke, of learning, fun projects, Nativity plays and more. Below are some special images drawn from the Hull Daily Mail archives.
