For many children, next month will herald the beginning of their exciting education journey, when they start school for the first time.
For others, that new-school-year feel in September is often a time to reflect on schooldays long gone. Those times may be remembered with mixed thoughts – of firm friendships first kindled, of stern-faced teachers, of unfathomable maths books or of wonderful (or dreadful) school dinners.
However we look back over those classroom years, with fondness and nostalgia for what has gone or with a shudder at the recollections, schooldays certainly leave their mark.
Here we have taken a dip into the Hull Daily Mail archives for a selection of images that are of St Andrew’s CE Primary School, and its forerunner Junior High School, in Grandale, Sutton Park, Hull. They may spark memories for some of our readers.
