Hull FC twins Callum Kemp and Lloyd Kemp have been selected in Yorkshire’s Origin squad to take on Lancashire next month. The Black and Whites young guns both played in the first test back in May, with the White Rose County running out 42-10 winners.
Lloyd grabbed one of the seven tries scored at Castleford’s Wheldon Road, with the twins joined in the latest squad by a Hull KR representative in Frankie Dearlove. The Rovers forward will now hope to feature for his county on home turf, with the second match taking place at Craven Park on August 2.
Both Kemp twins have made their first-team debuts for Hull. Callum, a half-back, featured in the final Super League game of last season against Catalans Dragons, while Lloyd, capable of playing at full-back or at centre, debuted in the Challenge Cup against York Acorn back in February, again scoring a try. He also scored in Hull’s 30-22 academy victory over the Robins last weekend.
Meanwhile, the squad also features Dacx Jones-Buchanan, son of ex-Leeds Rhinos player and seven-time Super League Grand Final winner Jamie Jones-Buchanan. In total, Leeds has 13 players in the 21-man strong Yorkshire squad. There are two from Wakefield Trinity and one each from Huddersfield Giants and Castleford Tigers.
As for Lancashire, St Helens and Warrington Wolves are both represented eight times, with the Saints also having one player in the Yorkshire squad. Six players from Wigan Warriors are also included.
