Super League clubs were given an early recruitment opportunity this season, with all out-of-contract players free to talk to rival clubs from December 1 last year. That has seen some players hit the market already, with some deals done and dusted for 2026. Here is a look at those deals to date.
Castleford Tigers
The Tigers, with Chris Chester leading their recruitment drive, have signed four players for 2024 so far. As exclusively reported by AORL, the Fords have signed Hull FC forwardJordan Lane on a long-term deal, understood to be four years. The player was offered a new deal at his current club but has opted for a move to West Yorkshire.
Elsewhere, they are understood to have completed another signing from Hull FC in Jack Ashworth, with Wakefield Trinity forward Renouf Atoni, as reported by AORL, signing for the club. They have also signed Newcastle Knights front-rower Brock Gracean, with the 23-year-old adding some punch to the Tigers pack next year. Love Rugby League first reported the club’s interest.
Catalans Dragons
The French club has signed Toby Sexton on a two-year deal from 2026. The deal was first reported by AORL, with the Dragons soon confirming the signing.
Hull FC
The Black and Whites have been the busiest club so far, securing five forwards on contracts for 2026. They have confirmed the signing of Sam Lisone, with the Leeds Rhinos prop putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.
However, as first reported by Hull Live, they have also acquired St Helens duo Joe Batchelor and James Bell, with the duo signing for the Yorkshire outfit earlier this season. Batchelor is from the White Rose County, with Bell set for his fourth European club after stints at Toulouse Olympique and Leigh Leopards.
Domestically, Hull have acquired two more forwards in Wigan Warriors prop Harvie Hill and York Knights back rower Connor Bailey – two more Hull Live exclusives. They fended off competition throughout Super League to sign Hill, and in Bailey, they have a hungry player looking to make his mark in the top flight after a strong stint in the Championship.
Hull also signed Will Pryce for 2026 on a three-year deal. However, after extended negotiations with Newcastle Knights, they agreed to a deal to bring the player over early for the rest of 2025 as well.
Hull KR
Rovers joined the party to sign Tom Amone after it became apparent that the prop was looking to leave Canterbury Bulldogs for a return to Super League. They soon became the front runners to sign the player, who had sincere interest elsewhere, and even helped Castleford Tigers get the deal over the line to sign the player for the rest of the 2025 season before linking up with the Robins for 2026.
The East Hull club has also confirmed the signing of former St Helens and current Oldham outside back Jumah Sambou. He has signed a three-year deal. They have also completed a deal for Warrington Wolves back-rower Tom Whitehead, as first reported by AORL.
The Robins are also thought to have done a deal to sign Connor Wynne, who is playing in the Championship for Featherstone Rovers. They are expected to complete a deal for Jack Charles, as exclusively reported by Hull Live this week.
Leeds Rhinos
No incomings so far. However, Morgan Gannon has signed a three-year contract with New Zealand Warriors starting in 2026.
St Helens
The Saints have signed young Wigan Warriors winger Jacob Douglas for the 2026 season, as first reported by AORL.
Wakefield Trinity
The West Yorkshire outfit has already announced the signing of Brisbane Broncos hooker Tyson Smoothy for 2026. The dummy-half, who played in the 2023 NRL Grand Final against Penrith Panthers, has agreed to a three-year deal, adding a new dimension to Daryl Powell’s side next season. Trinity have also confirmed the signing of Jazz Tevaga from Manly Sea Eagles on a two-year deal from next season.
Warrington Wolves
The Wire got the ball rolling with the signing of Wigan prop Liam Bryne before the start of the Super League season. The Wire’s interest was first reported by the Warrington Guardian, with that deal now completed.
Wigan Warriors
AORL reported in February that Wigan have completed a double raid of St Helens to sign two of their young talents. They have secured deals for Jonny Vaughan and Dayon Sambou, with the duo set to link up with the reigning champions for the 2026 season and beyond.
