A video of adults enjoying an impromptu game of hopscotch has been posted by a popular bar in Hull.
The chalk outline recently appeared outside Sleepers Bar & Kitchen in Newland Avenue. And while it is a game traditionally associated with school playgrounds, several “big kids” got in on the action.
Harry, manager at Sleepers Bar, said: “The idea just came from myself and one of the employees called Lyn.
“We were just chatting about the games we used to play when we were younger. Kids today have iPhones and are glued to the screens.”
Harry said, at 33, he was not old but “even I used to play hopscotch”. Lyn then remembered they had some spare chalk, and they decided to draw hopscotch squares on the pavement outside to “see what happens.”

“With the environment going on right now, there is a lot of uncertainty and not everyone is very happy,” Harry said, adding it was nice to see a few people have fun.
As seen in the heartwarming footage, several people did embrace their inner child for a quick hop.
Sleepers Bar uploaded the footage on its official Facebook page, with the caption, “We’re all big kids really!”
Established in 2006, Sleepers Bar was named after its location near the railway tracks in Newland Avenue. It opened its sister site in Beverley in 2014.
The bars offer beers, wines, and cocktails as well as food including breakfast and brunch, light lunches, tapas dishes, and full Sunday Roasts. They also have vegan and gluten-free options.
