Rhyse Martin is set for his return on Friday as Hull KR look to make club history. Four months after tearing his quad, the goal-kicking forward has been cleared to play and is in line to feature in the Robins’ clash with Wakefield Trinity.

Martin suffered an injury in the round three victory over Salford Red Devils and was forced to undergo surgery to fix the issue. However, he has now returned on time with his schedule and is likely to feature, with his return proving timely.

He replaces James Batchelor in the squad, with the fellow back-rower ruled out after a throat injury suffered in the game against Castleford Tigers last time out. The Robins are still waiting to discover the full extent of that injury, but Batchelor could be facing six weeks on the sidelines.

There is one other change, with Harvey Horne recalled to the extended squad in place of Danny Richardson, who is not available after making a short-term loan move to Salford to get some minutes under his belt.

Rovers welcome a Wakefield side one-point off the play-offs after an excellent win over Wigan Warriors last time out, a result that saw Willie Peters’ side open up a four-point gap at the top of Super League.

Rovers will make history if they win by producing the best start to a season in the club’s history. They are currently level with the 1966-67 side that also won 14 of their opening 15 games.

Hull KR squad to face Wakefield Trinity: Tom Davies, Peta Hiku, Joe Burgess, Mikey Lewis, Tyrone May, Sauaso Sue, Jez Litten, Dean Hadley, Elliot Minchella, Sam Luckley, Jai Whitbread, Rhyse Martin, Jack Broadbent, Kelepi Tanginoa, Jack Brown, Eribe Doro, Bill Leyland, Leon Ruan, Harvey Horne, Arthur Mourgue, Noah Booth.
