Dads, stepdads, people who are like dads can all be celebrated in style this coming Father’s Day, which this year falls on Sunday, June 15.

In the Hull and East Yorkshire area, there are lots of options for helping those father figures in our lives to feel special. Whether you want to treat your dad to a meal out or a concert; enjoy a family occasion that has him at the forefront, or book something that indulges one of his passions, there is something available on or around Father’s Day 2025.

Below is just a selection of events or things to do that might please your dad, so it is worth checking out the list.

TribFest at St Stephen’s

Hull’s St Stephen’s shopping centre is marking Father’s Day with the return of its popular TribFest concert, on Sunday, June 15, featuring a line-up of local singers for guests to enjoy while spending quality time with the family and the fatherly figure in their lives. Acts taking to the stage include Stevie Mould, a singer-songwriter whose genre-blending music takes inspiration from artists such as Brandi Carlile and Tracy Chapman, and visitors will also have the chance to catch Jessika Mae’s compelling vocals covering pop and soul classics, as well as indie classics and original anthems from Breeze.

Visitors should head to the main entrance of the centre between 1pm and 3pm to catch the performances on stage – and possibly some dad dancing to the music. Jim Harris, centre manager at St Stephen’s, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing back TribFest to spotlight some talented local performers while also bringing families together to celebrate Father’s Day.”

This unique event is a tribute to the past when Yorkshire beaches were the earliest places for land speed record attempts. Vehicles perform “spirited drag-races” in pairs over a 200-yard course marked in the fresh tidal sand, while motorcycles are often in groups of four or five as they leave the start line.

The following week, on Sunday, June 22, it is the turn of Brough Fire Station to open its doors, from 11am to 4pm, when visitors can meet the local firefighting team, get an up-close look at the rescue vehicles and equipment, and enjoy a day filled with fun, family-friendly activities.
