Town centre paving dug up in May and replaced with asphalt will be restored by spring, according to the public body behind the work.
Residents in Goole, East Yorkshire, have raised concerns about the ongoing appearance of Paradise Place.
It was dug up for utility works in May with the initial repairs said to be temporary and an “interim measure”, according to East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Goole Town Deal has confirmed the asphalt is temporary and will be replaced as part of the Public Realm project.
The £3.1m project is a bid to “refresh the way the town centre looks and feels”, it said.
As part of the work, a new electricity supply was installed on Paradise Place and Boothferry Road by Complete Utility Services.
Earlier in the year, East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: “This is a common and accepted approach to avoid re-laying surfaces that are due to be replaced shortly.
“The decision for the utility company to use a temporary reinstatement was made with the council’s agreement, and the paving blocks that were removed will be taken off-site and stored for potential reuse in future repair.”
