The technology-driven outdoor advertising specialist was founded by Furqan Alamgir and Paul Cartmell

Broadband supplier Connexin’s advertising arm Connexin Media has rebranded as CXN Digital in a move its founders say marks a major milestone. The business, which has worked with high profile customers such as Hull City, the NHS and Arco, has become an independent business which its founders say is “poised to redefine digital outdoor advertising”.

Connexin Media was the brainchild of Connexin CEO, Furqan Alamgir, and managing director, Paul Cartmell, and uses Connexin’s technology to help businesses advertise in some of Hull’s most visible locations. The company’s first digital screen was constructed in September 2023 on Anlaby Road, one of Hull’s busiest streets.

In the following year Connexin Media expanded, buying landmark advertising site The Phoenix on the A63. The firm installed another screen on reverse of the recognisable screen making it the first and last thing drivers saw when entering or leaving the city.

CXN’s portfolio of sites – which include boards on North Road, Rawling Way and Anlaby Road – are said to see more than 550,000 vehicles passing each week, putting customers in front of one of the largest audiences in the region. All of the firm’s screens feature ‘smart traffic sensors’ that provide advertisers with data insights into campaign reach and engagement.

Announcing the move to become CXN Digital, the firm said: “From the start, Connexin Media’s mission was to build a business that could one day stand on its own. That goal has now been achieved. The launch of CXN Digital marks the beginning of a bold new era as the company steps forward to expand across the region as an independent leader in digital advertising innovation.”
