The Foxes were deservedly beaten by in-form Hull City

Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu clearly did not take kindly to their 2-1 defeat at in-form Hull City on Tuesday night, highlighting his displeasure on social media.

Fatawu was part of the Foxes side that was blown away by the Tigers in a dominant first half at the MKM Stadium, and though they claimed a late consolation through a terrific Aaron Ramsey strike, they succumbed to just a second loss of the campaign against City, who made it three wins on the spin to rise above the East Midlands outfit.

The Foxes performer made it clear that he was not at all happy with being tackled by City defender Akin Famewo, who came on to replace Ryan Giles in the 59th minute of the contest, nor the performance of referee Matt Donohue.

“Men kicking for no reason without any punishment, we can’t take a chance to get unnecessary injuries this ref need to take care of us so we can bring out best (sic),” he wrote on social media along with a flurry of pictures.

The 21-year-old Ghanian then posted a picture of his foot with a sight graze on the top, along with the caption: “Why we always have to play with pains behind the scenes is so painful but you can’t complain this is not the way to stop the boy this ref need to take care of us so we will see who can last in this battle (sic).”

Well-worked goals from Liam Millar and Joe Gelhardt saw City lead 2-0 at the break before Ramsey’s clever chip over Ivor Pandur reduced the deficit and set up a nervy finale, but Sergej Jakirovic’s men saw it out.

During the first half with City a goal up following Millar’s sixth-minute pearler, the away following in East Yorkshire chanted towards manager Marti Cifuentes to ‘sort it out’ and he admitted after the game that his side were ‘really bad’ in the opening period.

“It’s a performance that is far from the standards in the vision that I have for my team and for the club. It was bad, really bad. I cannot say anything else. The way we conceded the two goals, the whole performance of the first half was not good,” the ex-QPR boss said.

“We are not consistent enough. In a league like the Championship, it’s very difficult to have 95 minutes of dominance. It will come a moment where the opposition will have good momentum and then you need to cope with that. We are fragile in that sense.”
