More overnight road closures are planned on the A63 in Hull that will last until just before Christmas, National Highways has announced.
Major work began in 2020 to build a new junction as part of the A63 Castle Street Scheme, which is due for completion in spring 2026.
The agency, which is responsible for the country’s major roads, said due to “strong progress” on the underpass, the A63 would be closed in both directions between 20:00 and 06:00 on various days from 20 October to 19 December.
An earlier planned closure westbound, between Roger Millward Way and Daltry Street over the weekend of 25 and 26 October, has been postponed, a spokesperson said.
“We’ve decided to implement this at a later date due to other works taking place in Hull city centre, as well as the Hull City v Charlton Athletic fixture,” the spokesperson added.
The road closures will take place on the following dates:
- Monday 20 October to Friday 24
- Monday 27 October to Friday 31
- Monday 3 November to Friday 7
- Monday 10 November to Friday 14
- Monday 17 November to Friday 21
- Monday 24 November to Thursday 27
- Wednesday 3 December to Friday 5
- Monday 8 December to Friday 12
- Monday 15 December to Friday 19
Meanwhile, an inspection will be carried out on the Anlaby Road flyover approach on Thursday 23 October.
To enable the work to take place, multi-way traffic signals will be in operation on Arnold Lane and Selby Street between 09:00 and 15:30 BST.
Hull City Council said: “We appreciate your patience and understanding while we carry out this important inspection.”
