High tide levels and large waves are expected to lead to flooding along the Humber Estuary, the Environment Agency has said.

Flooding was expected around Hessle foreshore including Hessle Haven between 07:00 and 08:00 BST on Wednesday, and again on Thursday morning.

Officials said they were closely monitoring the situation and would provide updates as it changed.

The agency said large waves and sea spray “would be dangerous” and people are advised to stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads.

A flood warning is also in place for the North Sea coast around Easington, with properties to the east, including caravan parks, at greatest risk.
