Sam, 24, has been missing for eight days

A mum’s desperate search for her missing son is continuing after eight days. Helen has been out with friends and family looking for Sam, 24, who was last seen at 11am on Thursday, November 6, in the Holderness Road area of Hull.

Humberside Police said there was a believed sighting of Sam around Axholme Court, Plimsoll Way, on Victoria Dock in Hull, at approximately 12.10pm on that same day. There have since been reports of possible sightings of Sam in Grimsby, said Helen, but these have not been confirmed.

The worried-sick mum said: “I don’t know what we are running on but we want to stay awake until we find him.” She said: “I don’t know what food or drink he has had, he didn’t have any money on him, but someone could have given him some if he has been sitting somewhere.”

Helen said Sam was “a fast walker” and may have walked somewhere. She has been leaving food and water care packages out for him in Hull in the hope he might find one.

The mum said: “My family and friends have been absolutely amazing, and people on social media as well. It feels like they are holding our hands.

On Monday, November 10, a statement from the force said: “As the search to locate missing 24-year-old Sam from Hull continues, following further enquiries we now believe that there was a sighting of Sam around Axholme Court on Plimsoll Way, Victoria Dock in Hull at approximately 12.10pm on Thursday (6 November 2025).”

Chief Inspector Owen Stafford, who is leading the search, previously said: “We understand how distressing this is for Sam’s family and friends, who we continue to keep updated as the investigation progresses and we do everything we can to try and find him.” Extensive enquiries were being conducted to locate Sam, and police teams had been reviewing hours of CCTV footage, and conducting house-to-house enquiries, in the areas they believed him to have last been seen.
