The 6.5 acre development by family-run Allenby Commercial, has trade counter and industrial units
A Hull business park is set to expand significantly after developers began construction on three additional industrial units.
Construction has started on the second phase of The Point at Priory Park East in west Hull, following the successful letting of the initial three units to expanding businesses. The 6.5-acre site, developed by family-owned firm Allenby Commercial, features trade counter and industrial premises.
With new occupiers now settled into the phase one units, phase two is underway and scheduled for completion by March 2026. The latest phase will deliver units spanning 2,500 to 5,000 sq ft, available for purchase or lease.
Businesses that have moved into the first three units at The Point include paint protection and detailing specialist Attention to Detail (ATD) Automotive and The Vault Collection, wholesale fruit and vegetable supplier Associated Growers, and interior and exterior fit-out firm Michael James Property Developments.
Andrew Allenby, managing director of Allenby Commercial, said: “It’s really exciting to see phase one completed and occupied, with the spaces creating new jobs and opportunities in the local area. We can’t wait to build on that success in phase two.”, reports Business Live.
“There is demand for quality and efficient space, and businesses want more from their premises, which is why all of our units are next level and high quality – design-led for each company with excellent access roads and landscaping. Phase two will continue to support further job creation in the local economy and provide growth for both local and national businesses.
“These developments are paramount to the success of the area and we’re very proud to play our part in that.”
The Scandinavian-style units feature spacious yards, ample parking, rooftop solar panels and HGV access, whilst The Point also benefits from a park and ride bus route. Harry Hall, founder and director of ATD Automotive, launched the business from the boot of his Mini at just 17 years old.
Eight years later, he has outgrown his previous premises at Allenby’s Trade Yard site in Beverley and moved to The Point. Harry has also established The Vault Collection at The Point, which specialises in supercar sales and acquisitions, and plans to rent another unit in phase two of the development as his business expands.
Meanwhile, Associated Growers, which was acquired by new owners four months ago, has been collaborating with farms and growers locally and throughout the UK for 50 years. In addition to its existing premises at the nearby Fruit Market, the company has established a new base at The Point.
Lastly, Michael James Property Developments has moved to The Point after outgrowing its North Ferriby premises and has purchased a 3,450 sq ft unit at the development. Plans are also in motion for work on phase three of The Point to commence in 2026, with a second access road planned for phases two and three. Additionally, there are plans for a sister development of The Point in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, next year.
Allenby Commercial, the development company behind the Trade Yard sites in Barton-upon-Humber, Beverley, Driffield and Willerby, Hull’s historic Paragon Arcade and the city’s newest landmark office and hospitality hub, Monocle, is also involved in these projects.
