(nee Mudd) Passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on 11th September 2025. Loving wife of the late Jack, much loved Mam to Joanna, Linda and Tracy. Mother in law to the three Steves. (Berni) Peacefully at home in Hornsea on 17 September, aged 82. Much loved Dad of Gordon, father-in-law of Julie and Grandad of James and Max. Beloved husband of Iris, brother of Pat and brother-in-law of Keith. Formerly of Longnewton and well-known cricketer for Acklam Iron & Steelworks, Cochrane’s, Normanby Hall and Doghouse. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. There will be a private family service. No flowers, please. Donations in lieu to Kidney Research UK and Cancer Research UK.

(nee Baines) 2nd May 1945 – 24th September 2025 Died at York Hospital, aged 80, with family beside her. Raised in Lincoln Terrace, Liddell Street, Hull. Attended St. Gregory’s RC School. Daughter of Tommy and Liza Baines, beloved granddaughter of “Little Annie” Baines, sister to Pat Beaumont, wife to Terry, and loving mum to son James and son-in-law Philip. Talented hairstylist in Hull for many years, having worked at Ruby Banks Hairdressers, in Spain and at her own salons across the city. Moved to York in 2017 to be nearer to her son. A glamorous and stylish lady who could light up any dance floor and will be dearly missed. Eileen will always be remembered as a true party girl (especially after a Brandy and Babycham!). Although they sadly didn’t meet, Eileen is now the most beautiful guardian angel for her beloved granddaughter – due November 2025. Requiem Mass at English Martyrs’ Roman Catholic Church, Dalton Terrace, York, YO24 4DA, on Wednesday 15th October at 2pm, followed by The Bay Horse, YO24 1AZ. All welcome.
