Appearances (including Challenge Cup games)

Hull FC used 35 different players in 30 games this season. Lewis Martin was the only ever present player. In fact, he played in every minute of every fixture, totalling 2,410 minutes (including the 10 minutes of golden point time against Leigh).

The full breakdown: Lewis Martin 30, Cade Cust 28, Tom Briscoe 27, Aidan Sezer 27, Jack Ashworth 27, Herman Ese’ese 26, Amir Bourouh 26, Zak Hardaker 25, Harvey Barron 24, Yusuf Aydin 24, Jordan Rapana 23, Davy Litten 23, Ed Chamberlain 20, Brad Fash 19, Liam Knight 19, John Asiata 17, Sam Eseh 17, Jordan Lane 14, Jed Cartwright 11, Denive Balmforth 11, Will Pryce 10, Logan Moy 10, Matty Laidlaw 10, Liam Watts 8, Jack Charles 6, Hugo Salabio 6, Will Gardiner 5, Will Hutchinson 4, Lloyd Kemp 4, Callum Kemp 3, Ligi Sao 2, Will Kirby 2, Oliver Holmes 1, Ryan Westerman 1, Joe Ward 1

Tries

Lewis Martin was Hull FC’s top try scorer for the second season running, with the young winger scoring a staggering 32 tries. In total, 114 tries were scored by the Black and Whites this year. The most in one game? 14 against Salford in August.

The full breakdown: Lewis Martin 32, Harvey Barron 15, Herman Ese’ese 10, Tom Briscoe 9, Davy Litten 8, Cade Cust 7, Jed Cartwright 5, Zak Hardaker 4, Aidan Sezer 4, Jordan Rapana 3, Will Pryce 3, Sam Eseh 3, Amir Bourouh 2, Jordan Lane 2, Jack Ashworth 2, Denive Balmforth 2, Ed Chamberlain 1, John Asiata 1, Lloyd Kemp 1

Hull FC landed 88 successful goals this season through six different kickers. Here they are in full: Aidan Sezer 33, Zak Hardaker 28, Jack Charles 12, Ryan Westerman 8, Will Pryce 7, Jordan Lane 1

And now for the top five for stat categories. (Super League games only)

Assists

Hull’s skipper Aidan Sezer led the way for try assists this year, with many of his assists produced for his winger Martin. Will Pryce’s record of eight in just nine Super League games is also noteworthy.

Top five: Sezer 23, Cust 9, Litten 9, Pryce 8, Asiata and Rapana 5

Carries

No surprises here. It’s not just Martin’s try scoring that excels, but his work in the backfield too.

Top five: Martin 458, Ese’ese 367, Sezer 341, Barron 326, Litten 310

Metres

Martin talked to Hull Live recently about his 15-20 carry and 100-metre targets. Well, he hit them this year. The winger averaged 17 per game for 120 metres. Barron was similar, averaging 15 carries for 111 metres. The challenge now is to make even more of a presence with those carries and get Hull on the front foot.

Top five: Martin 3,233, Ese’ese 2,585, Barron 2,440, Litten 2,167, Hardaker 1,867

Average gain

Interesting that both of Hull’s hookers – Amir Bourouh and Denive Balmforth – feature here. Jed Cartwright too packs a punch as a line-busting back row. Proper weapon when he plays.

Top five: Bourouh 9.42, Pryce 8.27, Cartwright 8.29, Balmforth 8.17, Barron 7.48

Clean Breaks

Martin. Again. The young winger linked up to effect with Sezer and Litten.

Top five: Martin 26, Cust and Sezer 11, Briscoe 10, Ese’ese 9

Tackle Busts

Herman Ese’ese almost averaged one broken tackle every three tackle attempts this year. Given he’s running in the middle of the field, the most congested part of the field, that’s ridiculously good.

Top five: Ese’ese 130, Hardaker 85, Rapana 71, Litten 70, Briscoe 68

Offloads

The big prop is Hull’s offload king for the second year running.

Top five: Ese’ese 42, Litten 15, Asiata 14, Knight 12, Eseh 9

Tackles

No player made more tackles than Hull’s little dummy half Amir Bourouh. No surprises to see Yusuf Aydin up there too, given his well-known work rate, while Herman Ese’ese, Zak Hardaker, and Cade Cust also stepped up.

Top five: Bourouh 832, Aydin 625, Ese’ese 598, Hardaker 584, Cust 546

Tackle efficiency (minimum 100)

Will Gardiner has the best tackle efficiency of any Hull player this year with 97.64% – 83 made, two missed. Will Hutchinson is also high at exactly 95% – 19 made, one missed. However for those with 100 made tackles or more, Matty Laidlaw leads the way.

Top five: Laidlaw 94.31%, Ese’ese 93.58%, Bourouh 93.27%, Aydin 93.14%, Balmforth 92.76%

Missed tackles

The aim of most attacks is to isolate half-backs, getting their big back rowers one-on-one, so on that front, there are no surprises here.

Top five: Cust 77, Sezer 74, Chamberlain 66, Bourouh 60, Rapana 59

Errors

Interestingly, Zak Hardaker only made seven errors all year, despite playing at full-back, centre, half-back and back row at various stages. The most errors came from Hull’s outside backs, the players constantly put under pressure with high kicks, tough backfield carries, and the like.

Top five: Litten 31, Barron 29, Rapana 27, Briscoe and Martin 20

Penalties Conceded

The naughty corner. Hull were the third most penalised side in Super League this year. They have received the joint most red cards – two – and the second most sin bins – nine. An area to improve in 2026.

Top five: Cust 18, Rapana 17, Bourouh 14, Sezer and Ashworth 11
