Two people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in Hull.

Humberside Police was called to Holderness Road at 00:10 BST on Wednesday to an “altercation” between a group of men.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening, the force said.

A 34-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man were arrested on nearby Nestor Grove on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Det Insp Gary Mathews said: “I understand an incident of this nature will be concerning for the local community.”

“However, I want to offer my reassurance that we take reports of this nature very seriously and we believe this to be an isolated incident.”

Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage of the incident.
