Hull City have signed Bosnia and Herzegovina international Amir Hadziahmetovic from Besiktas on a season-long loan.

The defensive midfielder arrives at the MKM Stadium with the Tigers having lost their past two Championship games.

He has made over 200 appearances in Turkish Super Lig for Konyaspor, with whom he won the Turkish Cup in the 2016-17 season, and Besiktas.

The 28-year-old was born in Denmark but started his career with Zeljeznicar in Bosnia.

He has won 30 caps for his country, but has not been involved since 2023.

The player is known to manager Sergej Jakirovic, a fellow Bosnian who coached in Turkey last season.

Hadziahmetovic said: “The coach called me one month ago. He worked in Turkey last year, so I know his mentality and how he wants to play. He likes to play offensive football and his team to be aggressive, which suits me as a player.

“My best qualities are passing, build-up game – more like a playmaker. I think I can be a good help to the team.”
