Hessle Feast makes its return to the East Yorkshire town this Sunday (August 31), promising a day full of fun, community spirit and celebration. There will be lots of live entertainment, delicious food and more.

Now in its tenth year, under the organisation of local volunteers Christine and Paul, Hessle Feast has grown into one of the town’s most loved annual traditions. After a challenging run of red tape and delays, the much-anticipated event has finally received the official go-ahead – and the organisers could not be more excited to welcome everyone back.

“This event means so much to us and the whole town,” said Christine. “Seeing families, friends, businesses, and charities all come together makes every bit of effort worthwhile. We’re so proud that Hessle Feast continues to bring joy to the community – and we can’t wait to see everyone this weekend.”

What to expect on the day

  • Fairground attractions – Fun for all ages throughout the town centre
  • The Open Voip Stage – Live music and performances all afternoon, Hessle Square
  • Over 60 independent stalls – Including crafts, handmade gifts, sweet treats, local produce
  • The Oakwood Dog Rescue Dog Show – Back by popular demand, with classes including “Most Handsome Boy” and “Best Ears”
  • Charities and community groups – Raising funds and awareness for local causes

The local business community has once again shown incredible generosity, said the Feast organisers, donating over £1,000 worth of raffle prizes. All funds raised from raffles, sponsorships, and donations will go directly towards supporting future Feasts, with this year’s surplus being donated to Hessle Community Organisation in memory of Christine Prattley, to help fund a new community minibus.

Hessle Feast has become a highlight of the summer calendar, boosting local businesses while giving residents a chance to enjoy a day packed with entertainment and community spirit. “Every year, the atmosphere is just fantastic,” said Paul.
