The driver of a car involved in the collision was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving

Police have named a motorcyclist who tragically died in a crash on an East Yorkshire road on Bank Holiday Monday. The incident happened on Lelley Road at its junction with the B1240 Sproatley Road, near Preston, at around 12.20pm.

Officers were called to reports that a grey Audi A5, which was travelling east on Lelley Road, was involved in a collision with a Harley Davidson. Stephen Coulson, 68, who was riding the motorcycle, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist trained officers at this time.

“The driver of the Audi, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital to receive treatment to minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and possession of an offensive weapon. He has since been released under investigation.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any CCTV, dashcam footage or information which may assist our enquiries to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 215 of 25 August.”
