Full casting has been announced for the UK tour of Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith’s Inside No.9 Stage/Fright, which will be paying a visit to Hull. With theatre critics calling the production everything from “dazzlingly entertaining” to “wildly clever”, the show should have Hull audiences on the edges of their seats.

With Pemberton and Shearsmith in the leading roles that they are reprising from the West End for the tour, this is the stage version of their award-winning BBC television comedy, Inside No.9. Receiving rave reviews across the board, the show is also to feature Rebecca Bainbridge, Mark Extance, Gaby French, Miranda Hennessy, Bhav Joshi and Toby Manley, also returning to their West End roles.

Sarah Moyle and Sophie Suddaby complete the cast for this 13-week theatre tour, which takes in Hull New Theatre from October 28 to November 1. Nominated for a prestigious Olivier Award this year in the Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play category, Stage/Fright features comedic, spooky and dramatic moments, just as fans of the BBC TV show have come to expect.

Some familiar characters and stories will be mixing with brand new material. The ninth, and final, season of the BAFTA award-winning BBC TV series was screened last year to huge critical acclaim and is now available on BBC iPlayer.

Hull New Theatre, which has tickets on sale now, says it will be “a theatrical experience like no other”. The theatre said: “Expect the unexpected as the acclaimed BBC TV series comes to life on stage, fresh from a sell-out West End run, weaving its signature web of twisted tales and black humour.

“From the eerie to the absurd, the Olivier Award nominated smash hit Inside No.9 Stage/Fright combines comedy and horror with a dramatic script that will leave you guessing until the very end.” Age guidance on the show is 12-plus.
