Police are now appealing for witnesses

Two people were “seriously injured” in a crash on a major road between Driffield and Bridlington. Humberside Police say the two-vehicle collision happened on the section of the A614 between Burton Agnes and Ruston Parva at around 3.30pm on Thursday (August 21).

It is reported that a grey Volkswagen travelling northbound and a silver Mercedes heading southbound were involved in the incident. A Humberside Police spokesperson added: “Emergency services attended and the driver of the Volkswagen, a 77-year-old man, and a passenger of the Mercedes, a 72-year-old woman, were taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

“The driver of the Mercedes, a 71-year-old man, was also taken to hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries.

“We would appeal to anyone who was travelling in the area and may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries to please call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 285 of 21 August.”
