The big games keep on coming thick and fast for Hull FC, with John Cartwright’s side heading over the Pennines to take on St Helens this Friday night. Looking to keep their destiny in their own hands, Hull need a victory to open up daylight between themselves and Wakefield Trinity once again in the race for the Super League play-offs, while Saints know a win will put them second in the table. Big stakes, indeed.
Into the business end of the season, or the ‘final charge’, as recently launched by Super League, Hull were dealt three big injury blows earlier in the week, with John Asiata, Will Pryce, and Liam Watts dropping out of the side. However, the confidence is there that those stepping in can do a job and return to Yorkshire with two massive competition points. Meanwhile, Saints have won eight of their last nine games and also defeated Hull 13-6 at the MKM Stadium back in June. They start as favourites.
This one promises to be another tough battle, with the Steve Prescott Cup also up for grabs. As always, we’ll be there every step of the way, with team news, build-up, live action, and post-match reaction to come. Stay tuned.
