Hull FC ran out 18-12 winners over Leigh Leopards at the MKM Stadium on Saturday evening. The Black and Whites were 12-0 up after first half tries from Cade Cust and Harvey Barron.

However, Leigh pegged them back through Lachlan Lam and Gareth O’Brien tries, with Lewis Martin’s 28th of the season seeing Hull home after a lengthy match winner. Here are the ratings.

Will Pryce – Lively before limping off the field in the first half. Seen on crutches in the second half. 6

Harvey Barron – Finished superbly for his try, first palming back a kick before collecting the ball again to finish airborne in the corner. A great piece of athleticism. Also carried hard and stood up defensively when he needed to. 8

Tom Briscoe – Ran hard as always and did his job in defence, working in tandem with his fellow right edge. 7

Davy Litten – His energy and enthusiasm are never in doubt. Chased everything and got involved when he could. 7

Lewis Martin – Worked hard in the backfield and ran the ball as strongly as any before scoring the match winner with his 28th try of the season – a hack forward, pick up, and dart to the line. 8

Zak Hardaker – Hull FC’s player of the season; you’d be a brave man to bet against that. Full-back. Centre. Back-row. Half-back. It doesn’t matter. The ultimate competitor every week. Hard evasive running again and kicked well. He’s been outstanding all year and led Hull superbly. 9

Cade Cust – Scored the first try, coming onto the ball at pace to beat Robbie Mulhern. Assisted the second. Ran well throughout. That running game is always a threat. Left the field with an HIA but returned late on. 8

Herman Ese’ese – Led Hull’s charge in the first half. Hull soon got on top and Ese’ese was a part in that. 8

Amir Bourouh – Few darts from dummy half in a performance that was much more like the display that saw him earn his plaudits earlier this season. 7

Liam Watts – A solid opening stint from the veteran. He ran hard and defended well. Came on and went again. Powerful display before leaving the field to a HIA. 8

Jed Cartwright – Put himself about defensively. Great workload. Also carried firmly and got involved. 8

Jordan Lane – First game back and did little wrong. A solid eighty-minute performance after four months out. 7

John Asiata – Everything went through the loose-forward in the first half. He was outstanding. Mixed his game up with his passes on the block play and also carried well. Left the field with what looked like a tweak of his hamstring in the second half. 8

Yusuf Aydin – Came on and helped get Hull home. Big effort and certainly dug in the middle of the field. 7

Jack Ashworth – Brought some aggression off the bench with some solid carries. 7

Sam Eseh – His aggression and enthusiasm have been telling in recent weeks. He’s just got better and better the more confident he’s got. 7

Lloyd Kemp – Came on in the first half and took some brave kicks out of the air. Isolated for Leigh’s tries but got the final say at the end and had a fine Super League debut moment. 7
