As part of their 12 date tour, the band will play at Connexin Live in Hull
Kaiser Chiefs will be playing at Hull’s Connexin Live next year as part of their 12 date More Employment tour. It follows their summer success, which includes a standout performance on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, a sublime headline date at Alexandra Palace Park in London and a mammoth homecoming show at Leeds’ Temple Newsam Park.
The band has marked 20 years of their iconic album Employment with three brand new expanded ‘China Anniversary’ formats. Remastered at Abbey Road Studios, the bonus material across the release was curated by the band from their own archive.
The album was originally released in March 2005 and has gone on to become one of the most successful debut albums from a UK band. It peaked at number two on the UK album chart and spent more than 17 months on the Official Top 40 chart.
Featuring a host of hit singles including ‘Oh My God’, ‘I Predict A Riot’, ‘Every Day I Love You Less And Less’ and ‘Modern Way’, the album sold more than 2.1 million copies. It has even been certified Platinum status seven times by the British Phonographic Industry.

Frontman Ricky Wilson said: “This summer, we played a load of shows to mark the release of our debut album ‘Employment’. It went well. Probably better than our first summer 20 years ago. It was the year after that first year that things really took off.”
“So, we hope you will join us in February to help celebrate with us ‘the year it really took off’. If you were with us the first time, or unfortunately missed out due to other commitments, we hope you will join us for a joyous lap of honour. (Plus, I spent quite a bit on a new blazer and want to get my money’s worth.)”
The band is fronted by Ricky Wilson, with Simon Rix on bass, Andrew ‘Whitey’ White on guitar, Nick ‘Peanut’ Baines on keyboards and drummer Vijay Mistry. They have released eight original studio albums (two of those UK No. 1), had nine Top 40 singles, including the No. 1 ‘Ruby’, received three Brit Awards, an Ivor Novello Album of the Year award for Employment, toured with U2, Foo Fighters and Green Day and sold more than eight million albums worldwide.
Kaiser Chiefs will play at Connexin Live on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday, August 22. You can find out more at www.connexinlivehull.com or via Connexin Live’s official ticketing partner AXS.
