An East Riding care home put on its own version of Ladies’ Day.
Cottingham Manor Care Home, in Harland Way, pulled out the stops so that residents did not miss out on the occasion. Joanne Golden, activities lead at Cottingham Manor, said: “We decided to hold an afternoon Ladies’ Day.
“We couldn’t get the residents to Beverley races so we brought the races to them, starting at noon with a serving of afternoon tea and fizz, followed by presenting gifts to the best hat and best-dressed person at the venue.
“We all then gathered outside to greet our guest Grace, who rode her horse called Rosie to us for the residents to have pictures with and to pet. We then had entertainment from Wilf, our guest singer.”
Joanne said: “The afternoon was truly glitz and glamour and brought so much joy to all our residents. It really did bring all our residents, families and community together for a fabulous afternoon.”
