It’s a fixture that might not have even happened given Salford Red Devils’ ongoing financial issues, but after another dismal week for the Greater Manchester-based side, here we are, with Hull FC in action for the 25th time this year.
For Salford, the last seven days have been as grim as it gets, with more player departures, embarrassing debt realities, and emergency loan signings made to ensure Paul Rowley has enough players to field a team. It’s been turbulent, to say the least, with the challenge now for Hull to remain professional and deliver a performance and result during a match that every man and his dog will expect them to win.
For Hull, it should be a welcome two points to leapfrog them back into the Super League play-off positions, but as the rugby league rollercoaster dictates, it’s never that simple. Hull have a job to do – and they have to earn the two points as much as any with a display that meets their own standards set out in training this week. As always, we’ll be there with all the build-up, team news, live action, and post-match reaction. Stay tuned.
