Free and secure cycle parking for up to 250 bikes will be offered
Free and secure cycle parking for up to 250 bikes will be offered to people heading to the Coldplay concerts in Hull, Hull City Council has said. The Glastonbury giants are set to play at Hull’s Sewell Group Craven Park on August 18 and 19 as part of the Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025.
The council is working alongside the charity R-evolution to give people the opportunity to leave their bikes at Soccer Sensations. This is next door to Craven Park, and the council said that staff will park it ready for collection later.
As part of the council’s Bike Lights for Dark Nights initiative, the first 30 bikes to arrive without lights each night will receive a free set of lights as well as having them fitted. This will also come alongside a hi-vis rucksack cover.
Councillor Mike Ross, leader of Hull City Council, said: “Coldplay’s arrival is undoubtedly one of the biggest gigs in Hull for a long time and as a city, we’re all excited to play host to not only the band, but fans from across the country who will be visiting our fine city. Coldplay’s ongoing campaign for sustainability is something we can relate to and support wholeheartedly, which is why we’re delighted to be able to offer this free cycle parking and light fitting for ticket holders.
“We expect this offer to prove very popular which is why we’re asking those wishing to utilise the service to pre-register their details and make the service more efficient.”
Fergal McCullough, CEO of R-evolution, said: “We’re thrilled to support Hull City Council’s sustainability mission by making it easier for people to cycle to the gig. This is a fantastic opportunity to show how practical, safe, and enjoyable cycling in Hull can be – especially for major events like this.
“By offering free and secure bike parking, as well as lights for those who need them, we’re helping fans travel in a greener, healthier way and making sure they feel supported every step of the journey.”

Hull City Council has also been working closely with partners from across the city to ensure Hull is ready to welcome visitors. Dedicated pages within the Visit Hull website have been created, offering a wealth of information about Hull as an aspiring music city, what to do and where to go whilst in Hull and getting to and from Sewell Group Craven Park as well as future events.
The website will also highlight those businesses who will offer extended opening hours and offers around the gig dates. Councillor Ross continued: “We’re working closely with our transport partners to ensure train, bus and taxi offers are all amplified across the gig dates.
“We’re also working with the operators to ensure as little disruption to the area around East Hull whilst the concert sets up and dismantles. We all want a safe experience for visitors which is why Humberside Police will have a visible presence in the area, providing reassurance for everyone involved.”
