Gogglebox favourite Jenny Newby’s rarely-seen husband was unveiled in a snap shared by her co-star Lee Riley to celebrate the couple’s milestone wedding anniversary
Gogglebox fans were taken aback when Jenny Newby offered a rare peek at her husband Ray.
Jenny, who celebrated her 70th birthday earlier this year, and Lee Riley have been stalwarts of the popular Channel 4 programme since 2014, quickly becoming fan favourites.
The Hull-based duo, friends for over a quarter of a century, have consistently entertained viewers with their witty banter.

While Lee enjoys life with his partner Steve away from the show, Jenny is married to her long-time spouse, Ray. On Sunday (August 3), Lee surprised fans by posting an uncommon photo of Jenny and Ray.
On their joint Instagram account, Lee celebrated Jenny and Ray’s golden wedding anniversary by sharing a throwback photo of the couple from their wedding day in 1975, reports the Manchester Evening News.
He amusingly captioned the post: “Wishing my sidekick Jenny and Ray a happy 50th golden wedding anniversary who gets the medal”. The nostalgic image charmed fans, but some were humorously distracted by Ray’s distinctive sideburns.
One follower exclaimed: “Ray should get a medal for those sideburns alone. Epic,” while another concurred: “Was thinking the same.”
Another chimed in with: “Jeez them sideburns have a life of their own,” and yet another commented: “Bloody hell, look at those side burns. You could ski down them.”
Lee and Jenny’s friendship dates back to 1994 when they met at a pub where Jenny was the landlady.
Jenny reminisced with Ireland’s Big Issue magazine, saying: “Lee was a customer at my pub, The Crown Inn in Paull. He became a regular in 1994 and used to come in pretty much every night with his partner and we were friends from the off. We’ve been best friends ever since.”
Lee quipped: “I wish I’ve never gone in the pub – it cost me a fortune. When I first met her she had a perm and I can remember thinking, ‘She needs a haircut’. We were firm friends immediately.”
He also shared: “I don’t think we’ve ever had an argument. We’re too placid to argue. She makes me laugh too much for me to ever fall out with her.”
