Hull is sending out a heartfelt message with the release of a new video called From Hull, With Love x to mark Yorkshire Day. The video is a love letter from the people of Hull and East Yorkshire to the rest of the UK.

To mark the occasion, a group of dedicated HEY! Volunteers are making their way to London. Their mission is to distribute invitations encouraging people to come and soak up the rich culture, warmth, and unique charm of Hull and East Yorkshire.

This initiative represents a fresh take on last year’s high-profile Yorkshire Day activity, which saw a large-scale stunt capturing attention across the capital. Fast forward to 2025, and the message remains just as potent – delivered with a personal touch and true Yorkshire spirit.

The celebration this year is a joint effort between HEY! Volunteering, Visit Hull, and Hull Trains. Travelling via Hull Trains’ direct service to London, the volunteers will extend a warm welcome and a personal invitation to explore the region’s coastal beauty, cultural scene, and iconic maritime heritage. Each hand-sealed envelope contains discounted travel via Hull Trains, with some lucky recipients also receiving tickets to shows at Connexin Live, Hull Truck Theatre and Hull New Theatre.

Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure at Hull City Council, said: “From Hull, With Love x sends our message far and wide that we’re ready to welcome visitors to our beautiful city and region. I know our HEY! Volunteers will do an excellent job showcasing what we have to offer and spreading local love to all they encounter.”

From Hull, With Love x captures the warmth, pride and personality of our region, and we’re delighted to be sharing that message with the capital.

“Tourism plays a vital role in our local economy, and this campaign is all about inspiring new visitors and showcasing the best of what we have to offer – delivered straight from the amazing HEY Volunteers.”

Louise Mendham, service delivery director at Hull Trains, spoke of the company’s regional roots, saying: “We’re incredibly proud to be from Yorkshire and to support the brilliant people who make the area so special every day. As well as providing direct links for local people to travel to destinations including Doncaster, Selby and London, we also regularly support our local communities and the fantastic charities across our region.
