Hull City have agreed a deal with Manchester City to sign winger Joel Ndala on a season-long loan deal.
Pending EFL approval, the Tigers will bring in the 19-year-old in what is a major boost to Sergej Jakirovic’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. City cannot pay a loan fee for any player under the terms of their fee restriction, but can do a deal as long as there is no payment due to the Premier League outfit.
Ndala is a highly-rated left-sided winger who was born in Manchester before moving to France. He then came back to England at the age of seven where he joined Port Vale’s academy. He headed to Man City at the age of 10.
Ndala was a regular with City’s youth team, including the one that won the FA Youth Cup and had experience playing in the EFL Trophy with the Sky Blues. Twelve months ago, he joined PSV but that move didn’t work out and he returned to England in the winter, with him joining Nottingham Forest’s academy.
Like PSV, Forest had the option to buy the teenager but that didn’t happen and Ndala returned to the Etihad Stadium earlier this summer.

Ndala has represented England at Under-16, 17, 18 and 19 level, and is now expected to spend the season at the MKM Stadium. His arrival is a welcome boost to Jakirovic, who remains without first choice wingers Liam Millar and Mohamed Belloumi as they recover from ACL injures.
Abu Kamara remains City’s first choice winger, though there remains doubt around his long-term future with Scottish giants Rangers interested in his services. Winger David Akintola is also expected to arrive on a free transfer having turned down a move to stay in the Turkish Super Lig.
City remain hopeful of striking a deal for John Lundstram and Enis Destan, while talks remain ongoing with Oliver McBurnie over a free transfer move to the MKM Stadium, but that deal has not yet received EFL approval. Defender Akin Famewo has been training with City following his exit from Sheffield Wednesday.
