Hull KR captain Elliot Minchella has been left out of the squad for the trip to Catalans Dragons. Minchella, an ever-present this season, does not appear in the matchday squad at all today, with Jack Brown named as 18th man.
There are three changes. Minchella’s omission goes alongside enforced withdrawals of Jez Litten and Danny Richardson, who are both unavailable through injury.
They are replaced by Mikey Lewis, back after going through the head injury assessment protocols, Bill Leyland and Rhyse Martin, who was a surprise absentee last week.
Dean Hadley is the man selected at loose forward in Minchella’s absence, while Rhyse Martin is the starting back-rower.
It means Jai Whitbread is on the bench, with Bill Leyland also taking a bench role while former Catalans player Micky McIlorum starts.
The Robins are looking to end a six-year losing streak in Perpignan and if they do, they will extend their lead at the top of Super League to four points, with Wigan Warriors on the brink of defeat to Hull FC in Saturday’s earlier contest.
Hull KR squad to face Catalans Dragons: Arthur Mourgue, Tom Davies, Peta Hiku, Jack Broadbent, Joe Burgess, Mikey Lewis, Tyrone May, Sauaso Sue, Micky McIlorum, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Rhyse Martin, James Batchelor, Dean Hadley. Subs: Sam Luckley, Jai Whitbread, Kelepi Tanginoa, Bill Leyland.
