A man who died in a road traffic collision on Hedon Road has been named as police have issued an appeal.

On Thursday, July 3, Humberside Police were called to reports of a crash involving a cyclist and a Volvo tipper. The incident took place at the junction of Emily Street.

Emergency services attended the scene, but despite their efforts, a man died as a result of his injuries. In a statement issued today, Humberside Police said the man who sadly died was 59-year-old Chakib.

Speaking of their tragic loss, Chakib’s family said: ‘’Chakib was a hard-working family man, known for his jolly nature and fooling around. Chakib – or ‘Tic Tac’, as he was known to his friends – was the owner of Queens Gardens News and Whitefriargate News. We will always remember his wise words: ‘Live your life and make the most of it.’”

His family are being supported by specially trained officers. They have requested privacy during this extremely difficult time.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers continue to appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting log 477 of 3 July.”
